Wallpaper I made using the design blueprints of the Arwing Ver 03. Starfox and the Arwing are copyright of Nintendo Entertainment.

Why is there a SNES Arwing on here, too? :XD:

That's because this was made before I finalized a blueprint design using the N64 Arwing layout. I was basically trying to find something to fill space.

I do believe StarFox 64's Arwing is the Mark II.

Bravo! very detailed and prescise, however the model would have been better if you used the assault version of the arwing

The Arwing has to be one of the best well-designed ships that i've ever seen in any video game.

Hey, could you do a the V2 Arwing from Adventures, I liked that design better than the this one, it was more practical. This is still cool however!

This is based off of official artwork from StarFox 64, so unless I had the art for that, of which I'm pretty sure none exists, I can't do it. Sorry.

That's okay, I figured you were doing the one from Assault, because they used the same model ideas from 64 in Assault.

I think the one in Assault was slightly more "rounded" than this one, but don't quote me on that.

Hey, you said you couldn't find a good picture of the one from adventures, I've got a treat for you, I can get you up close and personal, in fact i can get a picuture from inside the cockpit, inside the cargohold if you want. I have the official 3D model so you can get a look from every angle physically possible, and some impossible.

Hmm... well, I guess I could try to do an outside drawing, but I'd need pictures of the views from front top and side, straight on, if anything. Maybe the model, depending on what 3D program it's for.

The model is in standard .obj format, but there is a .cr2 file for Poser or Daz Studio, but if you want to download it here's the link [link]

but if you'd still like I can do some renders for you, oh and the feet only retract with a mat file under poses.

I remember seeing this diagram of the Arwing from the player's guide magazine for Starfox 64. Very detailed design. Especially with the mechanism inside. I always thought of the Arwing as a sort of customized version of the now retired F-14 Tomcat because of the fact that it has wings that open and close. Facinating. Simply facinating.

Yeah, I didn't realize how much was really in it until I started doing my vector of the artwork. I really should post a larger version of the top down view, so people can get a good idea of how much was put into the design.

I've done an updated version that I vectored. Sorry for the typeface, but it's the closest I could find to an actual drafting font. I'd do it in my handwriting, but it'd take forever.

that is aweesome!?!?!?
but isn't the 3/4 view a different model of Arwing (the one in the origianal game) to the others?

No, the second Arwing was just slightly modified, if I remember correctly. The Blueprint pictures were taken from the Official Players Guide, so I'm pretty sure they're all the same Arwing.

Even if they were taken from the same players guide, A-Vixens-Fury is right ... the 3/4 view is clearly of the SFX Arwing (as seen in the original SNES game and Nintendo Power Comics), while the other views are of the StarFox 64 version. If you look carefully, the differences are clear. [ The Shape of the G-Diffusers, the extra notch and "beak" in the nose cone, and the narrowness of the wings, vs. the flatter, adjustable wings of the SF64 ship ]

I'm personally partial to the original ship, vs any of the versions that appeared in SF64, Adventures, Assault and Command.

This is still an awesome Background compilation though.
